Rally Japan 2024 Environmental Policy

Rally Japan 2024 Executive Committee recognizes the need to protect the environment in organizing FIA World Rally Championship Forum8 Rally Japan 2024, and will work to understand and minimize the environmental impact in order to fulfill its responsibilities.

We will also share our values of environmental consideration with stakeholders and strive to raise their awareness.

We will strictly adhere to the following manifesto and aim to operate the event in an environmentally sustainable manner.

1. Strive to comply with environmental requirements in accordance with international and national legal frameworks.

2. Commit to environmentally friendly initiatives with our stakeholders.

(1)Creating an environmentally friendly event

・Actively utilizing clean energy at the event.

・Reduce the amount of waste generated at the event as much as possible, implement effective sorting and treatment, and promote recycling and reuse.

・Tell spectators and others to cooperate in separating trash and taking it home.

・Properly collect and dispose of wastewater that affects the environment. Minimize the use of water.

・Aim for environmentally sustainable procurement in cooperation with suppliers.

・Actively utilizing environmentally friendly materials at the event.

・Encourage the use of public transportation and shared rides for the Executive Committee members and stakeholders (suppliers, media, spectators, etc.).

・Aim for carbon neutrality by 2030, through measuring the carbon emissions of the entire event and analyzing the factors.

(2)Forest Conservation

・Since the event area has been striving to preserve forests through human activities for many years, it is possible to hold rally competitions using forest roads. Through this event, we will share the charm of mountain villages both domestically and internationally and convey the role played by forests.

・Conduct periodic environmental surveys and strive to avoid impacting the ecological environment of plants and animals.

(3)Education for children

・Create opportunities for elementary and junior high school students and others to think about a sustainable society through the FIA World Rally Championship.

3.  Evaluate and manage the environmental targets (established in accordance with the FIA Environmental Certification Program) and Environmental Policy properly once a year, take necessary measures for continuous improvement.
