A memorial area has been set up at Toyota Stadium in memory of the late Irish WRC driver Craig Breen.
Breen competed in a total of 82 WRC rounds and finished on the podium nine times. He competed in last year’s Rally Japan 2022 with the M-SPORT FORD WORLD RALLY TEAM and finished 24th.
For the 2023 season, he was transferred back to the HYUNDAI SHELL MOBIS WORLD RALLY TEAM. However, on Thursday 13 April 2023, he lost his life in an accident during a test.
At the memorial, a board has been put up in to convey Breen’s achievements from the year before and express condolences for his passing. Messages can be left and flowers can also be donated. This area is located near the entrance and exit on the east event area side.
